We used Debbie Clinch’s services for property/financial and parental mediation to develop the agreements we needed to be able to move along with our lives after my wife and I separated earlier this year.
Debbie was professional, organised, experienced, knowledgeable and very helpful. She also went the extra mile multiple times to help us keep moving forward, and to get us all the way to our agreements. This was especially important as the negotiations took longer than expected, through no fault of her own.
More importantly for me she was very open, honest and empathetic, and quickly earned my trust… which was a critical factor for me at a time that involved a lot of uncertainty and confusion. Another important contribution she made was to remind me at times that it was important to consider the longer view of things and to remember my kids, particularly as the negotiations became quite contentious at times. Without those timely reminders the negotiations could easily have devolved into us approaching it as a zero-sum fight, and likely would have meant we ended up with nothing agreed at the end.
I’m glad we engaged Debbie early on in our separation as it helped us get to our agreements more quickly, and let us start making the required moves to get on with our lives.
A huge thanks to Debbie, Madeleine and Christine for all their hard work in organising and conducting the mediations, and I can’t recommend Debbie enough. She’s a terrific mediator and more importantly a genuinely good person.
